Pahlish – Beyond the Wall Trio!

Hi guys! Today I have some swatches of the latest Pahlish release, a Game of Thrones themed trio of black, white, and grey polishes! I really love this trio, and I have nail art plans for it! I fiiiiiinally bought a new round of nail art brushes, and provided I have enough free time tonight I think I’m gonna attempt to bang out some Game of Thrones themed goodness to go along with these polishes. Anywho, on with the swatches!

Up first is The Three Eyed Raven, it is a soft black creme with gunmetal micro flakes throughout. I love the flakie bits in this one! It would make an amazing background for some galaxy nails I bet. The photo below is 2 coats + top coat(no sun shots for these swatches, every dang time I tried to get my swatches done the sky decided to cloud over)
Three Eyed Raven
Next up is The Frostfangs, a grey creme with a mixture of gunmetal and silver micro flakes. This one is another stunner! I am a sucker for grey polishes, and this one is no exception. The photo below is 2 coats + top coat.

Last we have The White Tree. It’s a white creme with gunmetal and black micro flakes. This miiiiight be my favorite of the collection, I love the look that the micro flakes give this polish. The photo below is 3 coats + top coat.

Pahlish Spam – Doctor Who Edition!

Hi guys! I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season! I had originally planned on having these swatches up well before Christmas, but then I got hit with strep throat and spent two solid weeks chugging cough medicine and sleeping. Whoops. On the bright side, my to swatch pile is now enormous, so I have lots of goodies to show off for the next few weeks! Anywho, on with the swatches!

Up first is a Bespoke Batch polish – The Good Dalek. It’s a rose gold holo that is packed with gold flakie bits. I had no formula issues with this one or any of the polishes in this post, and for the photos below I used 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Up next is another Bespoke Batch – Shadow Proclamation. It is a silver holo that is packed with pink/purple and darker grey flakie bits. I love how the flakies really show up when you look at this polish in the shade. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Dark Water is the last of the Bespoke Batch polishes that I snagged, it’s a blue holographic with lots of blue/teal shimmer in indirect light. This one was probably my favorite of all the polishes I swatched in this post! Again, I love how much the shimmer shows up when it is in the shade. The photos below are 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Next up is The Human Superpower, it’s a deep purple holographic polish with some blue shimmery bits. I love purples in this color family, this one was no exception! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

The last polish I have to show you guys is The Moon is an Egg. It’s a deep blue holographic polish with gold flakie bits in it. The photos might make it look similar in color to Dark Water, but in person it is definitely a deeper blue, and it has the gold flakes where Dark Water just has that shimmer. I personally love them both! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Unfortunately, these are no longer available because I failed at getting this post up in a reasonable time(stupid strep throat and cough medicine making me loopy for 2 solid weeks).  If you want to purchase any Pahlish polishes, check out the Pahlish bigcartel site. Pahlish November Duo!

Hi guys! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans, and woo-it’s-almost-Friday to everyone else! I have some swatches of the new Pahlish monthly duo for y’all today.

Soft and Sweet is a bright violet pastel cream that has a delicate mix of purple and charcoal flakes with soft taupe shimmer. Formula on this one and the glitter were both perfect, no issues at all! For the photo below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite:

Lights in the Clouds is a clear-based glitter topcoat with a mix of copper and navy glitters, and scattered neon purple flake shimmer. I love the combo of the navy and copper glitter, they work so well together! For the photo below, I put 1 coat over Soft and Sweet and topped it with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

The Duo is currently out of stock, but will be restocked one final time on Friday, November 28th. There will also be some amazing Black Friday deals that start at Midnight CST tonight(Thursday, November 27th) on the Pahlish bigcartel site. Pahlish – August in Rio collection!

Aaaaah I am late with this one! If you follow my instagram, you probably saw these swatches earlier this week, but life has kept me busy and I’m only just now getting to writing this bad boy!

The Pahlish August in Rio collection is a gorgeous set of bright polishes(that are ALL black light reactive!!!!!!), and they were the perfect collection to end the summer!

Up first is Petropolis, a bright neon fuchsia/purple with soft blue, purple, and violet flake shimmers. I had no issues with this formula(or any of the formulas in this collection, they were all great), and I loved the flakie bits in it! Photo below is 3 coats + top coat (daylight and black light)

20140826_110438

Up next is Prainha Beach, a bright jade green creme with gold metallic shimmer. Again, I loved the flakie bits in combination with the base polish, Shannon at Pahlish has a way with flakie shimmers in polishes! It’s always magic! Photo below is 2 coats + top coat (daylight and black light).

Next we have Jardim Botanico. It’s a deep neon teal base with turquoise and violet flake shimmers. I 100% did not expect this one to be black light reactive, and I especially did not expect it to be the color it glowed! I’ll let you see for yourself! Photos below are 2 coats + top coat (daylight and black light).

(^bright freaking blue, I mean what?!)

Finally, we have my surprise favorite of the collection, Balneario! It’s an intense neon melon jelly packed with gold metallic flake shimmers. It leaned really really orange on my skin tone, and I am usually not a huge fan of oranges but sweet mercy. This polish is just gorgeous. I seriously couldn’t stop staring at how bright my nails were while I was wearing it. And holy batman, under black light it was like a lamp itself with how bright it glowed. I had to turn down one of the settings on my camera so the black light photo wouldn’t just be a neon yellowish orange blur, hahaha. Photos below are 3 coats + top coat (daylight and black light).

Pahlish August Duo – First Day of my Life!

Hi guys! Just a quick swatch of the new August Pahlish Duo for y’all today!  The duo is called “First Day of my Life” and the two polishes are Meet Me in the Morning and Blankets on the Beach.

Meet Me in the Morning is a slightly turquoise tiffany-style blue creme with copper microflake shimmer, and Blankets on the Beach is a topcoat in a mix of soft gold, turquoise, copper, and bright gold circles accented by gold flake shimmer. Sweet mercy I love these two polishes! This creme is riiiiight up my alley, and the glitter works with it so well(I also feel like it would work well over most things in my collection, hahaha). The photo below is 2 coats of Meet Me in the Morning, and the accent nails are topped with 1 coat of Blankets on the Beach, and it was all topped with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Asa-no-ha nail art!

I tooootally forgot to post this one on here last week! I put it on my instagram and then it got left and forgotten about in my to blog folder on my laptop. Whoopsie.  Anywho. I used ladycrappo’s asa-no-ha tutorial for this one! It was tedious but I love how it turned out.

Polishes used: Pahlish – Foolish Fire, Pahlish – Lady of Raynham Hall(accent nail), acrylic paint for the turquoise lines(and Foolish Fire was used for the dots on the accent nail)

Loch Ness Monster nail art!

Hi y’all! I finally feel like i’m getting back into my nail art groove, so yay for that. I had been feeling a bit stuck and couldn’t come up with something to do over Pahlish – Ghost Lights, so I asked my friend Molly to give me a suggestion. She said the Loch Ness Monster, and this is what happened!

Polishes used: Pahlish – Ghost Lights, acrylic paints.

Pahlish – Midsummer Bonfires Collection!

Hi guys! Woooooooooooooo I am finally(almost) finished moving, and this new Pahlish summer collection was the first nail mail I got at my new house, so I wanted to take a break between the unpacking of boxes and share these swatches with y’all! This new collection is so so pretty, definitely lots of good bases for some future nail art!

Up first is Rosa Canina, a soft coral creme with scattered rose-gold shimmer and a mix of metallic turquoise glitters. I love coral and turquoise paired together, I think it always works so well! No issues with the formula, photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20140707_172622

Next up is Will-o-the-wisp! It is a bright lavender creme with a mix of lavender, gold, taupe, and neon purple flake shimmers. The flakes in this one didn’t want to cooperate with my camera, they are a bit more apparent in person, but still gorgeous either way! This shade of purple is also probably one of my top purples. Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20140707_174318

Foolish Fire is a vivid neon coral cream with soft blue and golden red shimmer. It has a rubbery-matte finish naturally, but for my photo below, I added top coat(personal preference, but it is beautiful either way!). I don’t know when it happened, but sometime in the last year-ish, I went from disliking coral tones to buying nearly every coral polish I could get my hands on, and this one was no exception, I had to have it! Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20140707_155356

Midsummer Skies is a bright sky blue creme with a mix of copper and turquoise blue flakes. It was one of my favorites of this collection! The copper flakes are what do it for me, I just love them in this color scheme! Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20140707_175759

My favorite of the collection, Ghost Lights, is a bright turquoise teal creme with soft blue shimmer and turquoise blue flakes. It is a tiiiiny bit more of a green-leaning teal/turquoise than my photo shows, it kept wanting to photograph more blue than it actually was. Wear on this one has been great, I’ve had it on since doing the swatch photos early Monday morning, it’s survived a shower AND doing the dishes with only minor tipwear(that I covered with some nail art, I’ll post that tomorrow!). Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

A Very Neon Starry Night!

Between the names and the colors of the Pahlish duo I posted about yesterday, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I decided to use them as a base for a neon version of Starry Starry Night.  I painted my nails with Pahlish – Fields of Provence and did an accent nail of Pahlish – Brighter than Sunfloweres. All of the rest was done with neon acrylic paints.
