Elevation Polish – Minneapolish Collection!

Hi you guys! Today I have the February Elevation Polish release to show you guys, the Minneapolish Collection! It has 5 polishes as well as a special LE Yeti polish that will only be available during the month of February.

The Walker is a bright purple with a strong holographic finish. I love this shade of purple! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Lake of the Isles is a bright blue ‘gelly’. It goes on streaky with the first coat, but the second one evened it out for me, and it dries with a high shine like gel polishes do. This color is another favorite, it’s perfect for spring! The photos below are 2 coats, no top coat.

Mill City Ruins is a new type of finish for an Elevation Polish. It’s a thermal polish! When warm, it is a light-ish khaki kind of green, and when it gets cold, it turns a darker olive color. It also has a gorgeous gold flake shimmer that works perfectly with both the warm and cold color of the polish. The photos below are 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.  I dipped my middle two fingers in ice water for the photo to show the thermal effect.

St. Anthony Falls is a white crelly packed full with a mixture of iridescent and gunmetal silver glitter. This one reminds me of the old Elevation SBP/Special polish from way back when, Opal. Opal has been on my WANT THIS POLISH list for a looooooong time, so I was ridiculously happy to see a polish that is similar in this collection. The photos below are 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Theo Wirth Parkway is a jewel toned green with lots of multicolored shimmer bits. I. Love. This. Color. It is probably going to become one of my regularly used polishes. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

The last polish I have to show you is the LE, Yeti Hides in the Mini Apple. It is a bright cherry red holo with a slight silver shimmer. This is the PERFECT red! It was the last polish I swatched of this collection because I knew I wouldn’t want to take it off, and I was right! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Elevation Polish – Rose Cardamom Chocolate Truffles

Today I have swatches of the Elevation Polish that will be in the February A Box, Indied! The theme for the box is “A Box, Candied” and will include polishes from these brands as well: Crows Toes, Hare Polish, Serum No. 5, and Black Cat Lacquer.

Rose Cardamom Chocolate Truffles is a deep chocolate brown with a pink flake shimmer as well as a bit of a holographic shimmer. I really really love shades of brown that are dark like this, they are my faves in the brown family. The formula on this was great as well, you could probably get away with just 1 coat if you applied it a bit thick, but I did 2 regular/thin coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite for these swatches. The ONLY downside I can come up with in relation to this polish is that every damn time I see/hear/think about the name, I want chocolate truffles like crazy!

Sunset Through the Trees Nail Art!

What is this? Me, regularly posting again? I hope I can keep it up, hahaha. I’m off to a good start so far in the new year!

It has been quite a while since I’ve felt like doing some nail art, my mojo has just not been around as much, but it decided to come back with a vengeance late last night! As a result, I stayed up entirely too late to paint this, but I love how it turned out, sleep be damned.

Polishes used: Elevation Polish – Walk a Little Farther, Elevation Polish – Pa’ako(those two were the blue to pale pink gradient for the sky), the rest of the stuff(clouds, sunset bright bit, trees, etc) was all done using acrylic paints.

Elevation Polish – A Journey Told Through Music Collection

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great end to 2014 and an even better start to 2015! Aside from a tiiiiiiiiiiny bit of a hangover, things are pretty good for me! Today I have swatches of the upcoming January collection from Elevation Polish, A Journey Told Through Music.

Up first is The Sea was Red.  For those of you that love Elevation Polish SBPs, you might recognize this one, as it is a slightly adjusted version of SBP Red Sea! It is a red to orange/gold duochrome with an intense linear holographic finish. For the photos below I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
20141228_142634
20141228_142651

Next is Quarter Past Midnight, it’s a blue/purple/red/gold duochrome, though the red and gold don’t show up as often as the blue and purple do. I had to take a billion and one photos of this one to make sure I caught all the color shifts! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Definition: The Vivid Unknown is a deep navy creme with a hint of a teal lean. I love this color! It’s the perfect vampy blue while being slightly different than most navy polishes I own because of that slight teal-ness to it. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
20141228_144532
20141228_144552

Next is Storm in the Morning Light. It is a slate blue/grey creme, and I have to say, when I first saw the bottle(before I even looked at the name), my first thought was that it looks like the color of storm clouds in the sky. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141228_133042(0)

Walk a Little Farther is a light blue creme that is full of an intense blue microshimmer. It is similar to a retired Evp, Alphubel. The formula on this one was a tiny bit thicker than the rest of the polishes, so it might take a tad longer between coats to make sure it dries and you don’t get any dragging. For the photos below, I used 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
20141228_151709
20141228_151725(0)

For those of you that were wondering just how close it is to Alphubel, here are some comparison shots! The polishes are labelled, and as you can tell, Alphubel is just a teeny bit darker than Walk a Little Farther, but they both have that same gorgeous blue shimmer.

20141228_152902

Just Like Night Time was probably my favorite of the collection. It’s a navy holo with a blue/teal/aqua shimmer. The shimmer really shows up in indirect light, and it was what made me fall in love with this polish! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141228_155721

Yeti Hugs: Feel So Close is a LE polish for the month of January. It’s a white/super light grey creme base that is full of a flakie shimmer in blues, pinks, and purples. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

This collection and the LE Yeti will launch on January 7th! Also, if you want to know more about the songs that inspired this collection, check out the Elevation Polish blog post about it!

Pahlish Spam – Doctor Who Edition!

Hi guys! I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday season! I had originally planned on having these swatches up well before Christmas, but then I got hit with strep throat and spent two solid weeks chugging cough medicine and sleeping. Whoops. On the bright side, my to swatch pile is now enormous, so I have lots of goodies to show off for the next few weeks! Anywho, on with the swatches!

Up first is a Bespoke Batch polish – The Good Dalek. It’s a rose gold holo that is packed with gold flakie bits. I had no formula issues with this one or any of the polishes in this post, and for the photos below I used 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.
20141222_144632
20141222_144722

Up next is another Bespoke Batch – Shadow Proclamation. It is a silver holo that is packed with pink/purple and darker grey flakie bits. I love how the flakies really show up when you look at this polish in the shade. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141222_150721(0)

Dark Water is the last of the Bespoke Batch polishes that I snagged, it’s a blue holographic with lots of blue/teal shimmer in indirect light. This one was probably my favorite of all the polishes I swatched in this post! Again, I love how much the shimmer shows up when it is in the shade. The photos below are 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141222_133853

Next up is The Human Superpower, it’s a deep purple holographic polish with some blue shimmery bits. I love purples in this color family, this one was no exception! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
20141222_153438
20141222_153459(0)

The last polish I have to show you guys is The Moon is an Egg. It’s a deep blue holographic polish with gold flakie bits in it. The photos might make it look similar in color to Dark Water, but in person it is definitely a deeper blue, and it has the gold flakes where Dark Water just has that shimmer. I personally love them both! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Unfortunately, these are no longer available because I failed at getting this post up in a reasonable time(stupid strep throat and cough medicine making me loopy for 2 solid weeks).  If you want to purchase any Pahlish polishes, check out the Pahlish bigcartel site. Elevation Polish – December Goodies!

Hi guys! Hope y’all have scored some good Black Friday deals if you’re out shopping! Today I have swatches of the upcoming Darkness collection, as well as the non-collection polish(The Kek) and a new LE Yeti polish!

Up first is the non-collection polish, The Kek(or Kekekabic). It is an olive/khaki green with a soft pink color shift and a holo finish. I really like this one and am glad it made a comeback, especially because I missed out on snagging the SBP version when it first released. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
20141127_124821
20141127_124858

Next up is the first polish from the Darkness collection, Queen of the Night. This polish is a super dark/blackened purple creme, it looks black in most shade/indirect light, but has a gorgeous deep purple tone in the sun. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Dusk @ Hovd is a dark purple holo that has a light gold shimmer. This is one of those purples that looks a different shade in every light you’re in, but I love it! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141127_121050

The next polish in the collection is Darkness of the Arctic 2, it’s an almost black blackbrown with tons of silver, gold, and copper flake shimmer business. I loved how much this one sparkled in both the sun and the shade. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

20141127_131804(0)

The last of the Darkness collection is Lost in the Darkness 2, a deep green/emerald-ish holo with a soft gold microshimmer. This is probably my favorite of the collection, I love how deep of a green it is! This polish(and all of the polishes in this post) had no formula issues whatsoever. The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

The LE Yeti polish for December is called Yeti was a Shadow 2. It is a dark grey holo and it is PERFECTIONNNNN. I dunno what it is about these dark grey polishes but I am a sucker for them all, I just love them! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Pahlish November Duo!

Hi guys! Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans, and woo-it’s-almost-Friday to everyone else! I have some swatches of the new Pahlish monthly duo for y’all today.

Soft and Sweet is a bright violet pastel cream that has a delicate mix of purple and charcoal flakes with soft taupe shimmer. Formula on this one and the glitter were both perfect, no issues at all! For the photo below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite:
20141125_104127

Lights in the Clouds is a clear-based glitter topcoat with a mix of copper and navy glitters, and scattered neon purple flake shimmer. I love the combo of the navy and copper glitter, they work so well together! For the photo below, I put 1 coat over Soft and Sweet and topped it with 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Neon Distressed Nail Art!

Hi y’all!  Just a quick nail art post for you today. I’ve actually been wearing this mani for 2-3 days now, it might be a new record for me hahaha.
Polishes used: Elevation Polish – Yeti Was a Good Ninja(base), Elevation Polish – Base of Huangshan(yellow), Elevation Polish – Sample GGM#5(green), Chaos & Crocodiles – Cupcake Ninja(pink), and Nina Ultra Pro – Cobalt(blue)

Elevation Polish – The Hawaiian Punch Collection!

Of course as soon as I have a collection that has a few holos to blog, it rains for two straight days so I can’t get any good swatch photos! Finally the sun came back out and let me get shit done, hahahaha. The November collection for Elevation Polish is full of some great takes on pinks and purples!

Up first is Kilauea, a magenta creme. This one looks a bit different on everyone depending on your skin tone! It looked very very red on me, no matter what light I was using. The bottle alone looks pinker than it does when it is compared to my skin. The photos below are 2 coats + top coat.

Wai’anapanapa is a black creme with a red/purple/pink/blue flakie shimmer. The shimmer isn’t very in your face, but when the sun hits it, it has such a great sparkle! No issues with this(or any of the collection) formula, the photos below are 2 coats + top coat.

Next up is Purple Queen Anthias, a magenta/purple-ish pink with a purple microshimmer. This is my kind of pink! I’m not big on super ‘pink’ colors or lighter pink shades, so this is right up my alley when it comes to a pink. Photos below are 2 coats + top coat.
Sunlight:

Bromeliad is a berry linear holographic polish. Perfect formula, no issues whatsoever. This is definitely a great fall/holiday shade! Photos below are 2 coats + top coat.

Kaihalulu is a deep burgundy with an intense red microshimmer. Holy cow, this is probably my favorite polish in the collection! It’s so dark and vampy, perfect for this time of year, and a great go-to when you need something a bit vampier than a regular red. Photos below are 2 coats + top coat.
Sunlight:

Shade:

Last but certainly not least is Sunset Among the Palms! It’s a violet/magenta holo with darker flake bits scattered throughout. It’s absolutely gorgeous, I love the flakie bits combined with the holo. Photos below are 3 coats + top coat.

Cerro Torre Nail Art!

Hi guys! Just a quick nail art post this morning. I used a few of my favorite Elevation Polishes to do some mountains based off of one of the polish namesakes, Cerro Torre!

The base polish is Elevation Polish – Pic de Sotllo, the mountains were done with Elevation Polish – Cerro Torre 2, and the shadowy bits of the mountains were a mix of Pic de Sotllo and Cerro Torre 2. The rest of the detail(snow, darker brown bits, black bits) is all acrylic paint.

20141016_182253

(this is the actual photo of Cerro Torre that I used as a reference. I got a bit heavy handed with my own snow t hough, so my mountaintops are much snowier, hahaha)
Cerro Torre, Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina
