Elevation Polish – A Journey Told Through Music Collection

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great end to 2014 and an even better start to 2015! Aside from a tiiiiiiiiiiny bit of a hangover, things are pretty good for me! Today I have swatches of the upcoming January collection from Elevation Polish, A Journey Told Through Music.

Up first is The Sea was Red.  For those of you that love Elevation Polish SBPs, you might recognize this one, as it is a slightly adjusted version of SBP Red Sea! It is a red to orange/gold duochrome with an intense linear holographic finish. For the photos below I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Next is Quarter Past Midnight, it’s a blue/purple/red/gold duochrome, though the red and gold don’t show up as often as the blue and purple do. I had to take a billion and one photos of this one to make sure I caught all the color shifts! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.
Quarter past midnight

Definition: The Vivid Unknown is a deep navy creme with a hint of a teal lean. I love this color! It’s the perfect vampy blue while being slightly different than most navy polishes I own because of that slight teal-ness to it. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Next is Storm in the Morning Light. It is a slate blue/grey creme, and I have to say, when I first saw the bottle(before I even looked at the name), my first thought was that it looks like the color of storm clouds in the sky. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Walk a Little Farther is a light blue creme that is full of an intense blue microshimmer. It is similar to a retired Evp, Alphubel. The formula on this one was a tiny bit thicker than the rest of the polishes, so it might take a tad longer between coats to make sure it dries and you don’t get any dragging. For the photos below, I used 3 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

For those of you that were wondering just how close it is to Alphubel, here are some comparison shots! The polishes are labelled, and as you can tell, Alphubel is just a teeny bit darker than Walk a Little Farther, but they both have that same gorgeous blue shimmer.

Just Like Night Time was probably my favorite of the collection. It’s a navy holo with a blue/teal/aqua shimmer. The shimmer really shows up in indirect light, and it was what made me fall in love with this polish! The photos below are 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

Yeti Hugs: Feel So Close is a LE polish for the month of January. It’s a white/super light grey creme base that is full of a flakie shimmer in blues, pinks, and purples. For the photos below, I used 2 coats + 1 coat Seche Vite.

This collection and the LE Yeti will launch on January 7th! Also, if you want to know more about the songs that inspired this collection, check out the Elevation Polish blog post about it!
