Elevation Polish – The Sea Collection!

Hi guys! Today I have a sneak peek of the upcoming Elevation Polish June release: The Sea Collection!  I have to say, this might be one of my favorite collections in recent Elevation history(that shouldn’t be a surprise though, considering how much I love blues/teals and how many of those are in this collection, hahahaha).

Up first is Bohai Sea. This polish is a blue medium density holographic polish. The formula for this one was great, I love that it was a one coater for me! The photo below is 1 coat + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Next is Ceram Sea, a green leaning teal.  As with all other Elevation Polish cremes, the formula is perfect. I like that this is more of a green teal, I don’t think I own anything quite this shade(and that is saying something, considering how many polishes I own in this color family). Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Thracian Sea is a ‘dark charcoal with a hint of purple undertone’.  Same as above, perfect formula! I’m gonna sound like a broken record by the time this post is finished because yet again, I can’t say I own anything quite like this. The purple undertone really comes out in the daylight, but was being a bit stubborn with my phone camera. Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Next is Weddell Sea, an ‘off white(grey leaning) with silver shimmer, white shimmer and sparse holographic pigment’. The holo and shimmer are there, but they are very subtle. The formula for this one was a teensy bit thicker than the rest of the collection, but that is expected with a white polish, and I had no issues with the application! If you open the photo below to full size, you can see the shimmer and holo a bit better, but it is still more apparent in person. Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

Last up is probably my favorite of this collection. It was listed on the site as Mystery Sea, but y’all can call it The Med 2! I missed out on The Med when it was a SBP(small batch prototype), so I was definitely excited to see another version of it released! This polish is a ‘blue teal with micro green shimmer and green/gold medium sized shimmer’. Yet again, great formula! The shimmer in this one is just fabulous, I can’t stop staring at it. Photo below is 2 coats + 1 coat of Seche Vite.

A Very Neon Starry Night!

Between the names and the colors of the Pahlish duo I posted about yesterday, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I decided to use them as a base for a neon version of Starry Starry Night.  I painted my nails with Pahlish – Fields of Provence and did an accent nail of Pahlish – Brighter than Sunfloweres. All of the rest was done with neon acrylic paints.

Pahlish June Duo: Vincent and the Doctor!

Good morning y’all! Today I have a sneak peek of the upcoming Pahlish June Duo, “Vincent and the Doctor”.  It will be released this Friday, May 30th at 7PM CST.  According to Pahlish, this duo was inspired by the Doctor Who episode “Vincent and the Doctor”.  The goal was to create a duo based on a deconstructed Starry Starry Night! And did I mention the best part? It is all black light reactive! Enough of my yapping, onto the good stuff!

Up first is Fields of Provence. This polish is a saturated cornflower blue creme with rich gold and charcoal flakes. The first coat was a tad patchy, but that isn’t surprising for a neon blue polish. The second coat evened things out completely and all was good! For the photos below I used 2 coats + Seche Vite.

The glitter topper in this collection is called Brighter than Sunflowers. It is a topcoat with scattered gold flakes, deep blueberry metallic, and matte periwinkle glitter accented by periwinkle mini stars and neon yellow hex/stars. Glitter payoff was good with this one, I only used one coat of it on top of Fields of Provence for the swatches below + Seche Vite.

Pahlish – Summer Collection!

Hi guys! What is this? Two posts in two days? Madness I tell you!  Hopefully I am back in the swing of things for good now, and I will keep up with posting on a more regular basis.  Today I have 4 polishes from the newest Pahlish collection, “Wood Between the Worlds”. The whole collection is gorgeous, I am definitely gonna need to complete the collection!

Up first we have Shallow Lands. According to Pahlish, this is a ‘soft greige-taupe crème with lavender, taupe, and gold flake shimmers’. I have a weakness for all things taupe/greige/etc. I just love them! The shimmery flakie business in this one is a nice touch, I like what it adds to the polish(I just wish I’d been able to capture the shimmer better in my photo!). For the photo below I used 2 coats + seche vite.

Next up is Sunless Sea. This one is a ‘springy mint green crème with gold microflakes’. Another stunner! The base color is the perfect bright-yet-pastel green, and I am always a fan of a good shimmer/microflake business. Photo below is 2 coats + seche vite.

Stars at Rest is a ‘soft blue creme with flakes of turquoise blue shimmer, scattered turquoise blue metallic glitter, and matte watermelon hex’. I love this one so so much! The pink glitter bits are a nice touch, this one feels like the perfect summer/beachy polish.  Photo below is 2 coats + seche vite.

And last but certainly not least, my favorite of this haul, Charn. This one is a ‘bright lavender crème with soft lavender-gold flake shimmer and matte lagoon blue glitter’. Everything about this polish is perfect. The color, the formula, everything! I think I kept this one on for about 2-3 days after I swatched it, and that is a long ass time for me to wear one color of polish without there being any nail art, hahaha. Photo below is 2 thick coats + seche vite.

30 Day Challenge: Catch Up Edition – Inspired by a Photograph(sort of)!

So this one is a bit of a stretch, as I wasn’t inspired by just one photo per se, it was more an hour of google image searching for various photos of an octopus, and then taking bits I liked/could paint from each one. So yeah. I’m really just trying to finish this dang challenge before May is over, hahahaha.  Base polish is Elevation Polish – Sample HOM#8, and the octopus was done with acrylic paints.

30 Day Challenge: Catch Up Edition – Inspired by your favorite children’s book!

I am so terrible at keeping up with this bad boy right now. If you follow me on instagram, you probably saw this mani earlier in the week, I just kept forgetting to write up a blog post to go with it! This mani was inspired by The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. The base polish is Essie – Lapis of Luxury, and the rest was done with acrylic paints.

Elevation Polish – The Summits Collection Part 2!

Another quick non-challenge post, I wanted to get these swatches out of the way before the collection comes out on the 7th! Unsurprisingly, another great collection from Elevation(especially the glitter. UGH THE GLITTERRRRRR).

Up first we have Elbrus 2! I don’t have the original of this one to compare, but this one is definitely gorgeous! According to the Elevation Polish website, Elbrus 2 is a “plum purple with shifting shimmer, silver/white shimmer”. The photo below is 2 coats + top coat.

Elbrus 2 Shade

Next up is Everest 2. Again, I never had the original to compare them, but this one is another stunner! This one is a “darkened taupe with a hint of copper shimmer and holographic pigment”. Photos below are in sunlight and shade; 2 coats, no top coat.

Mount Mckinley is a “bright lilac jelly creme”. This one came close to being my favorite in this collection, the shade of purple is gorgeous and it is such a perfect mix of bright yet pastel. Photo below is 3 coats + top coat.

Kosciuszko(although from here on out I will refer to it a Kuzco because that was where my brain immediately went and it has stuck!), this glitter. According to Elevation, it is a “bright Red/Pink (Cerise) glitters in various sizes and shapes (hexes, squares and circles) paired with coral shift to gold flake shimmer in a clear base”.  IT’S ALSO BLACK LIGHT REACTIVE Y’ALL. For the photos below, I used Kuzco over a gradient of Elevation Polish Jengish Chokusu & The Twinkle in Yeti’s Eye.
